Montford “Monty” Woody Monty Woody, husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully on 4-11-21. He was born in Farmington, NM, on 10-23-38. He graduated from Gadsden High School of Anthony NM, in 1957. He proudly served in the US Army with the 82nd Airborne and is a 1966 graduate of New Mexico State University. He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Eva. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Helen, son Donald, daughter in law Lynda, and 3 grandchildren Alex, James and Joy. He worked for the Bureau of Land Management for 13 years residing in Albuquerque, NM and Lander, Wyoming. Monty retired from the NM Game and Fish in 2000. He enjoyed being a game warden and loved the outdoors. He was active in the Santa Fe National League Little League serving as chief umpire for several years. He served as a Senior Warden of the Episcopal Church in Lander, Wyoming. His love of the outdoors included hunting, fishing and camping. He liked spending time with his family, friends and dogs. Monty was a lifelong Dallas Cowboy fan and always enjoying watching the games. He also enjoyed a good game of pinochle, country western dancing or watching a John Wayne movie. No services are planned at this time at the family’s request. No flowers or donations please. Remember him while watching the Cowboys play. Monty will be missed by his family and friends. We know he is dancing with the angels.
