Naomi Bernadette Briceño (Jita Nomes) a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, granddaughter, niece, godmother of two, and good friend too many, at the age of 33 passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and friends in the hospital after a sudden illness.
Naomi loved spending time with her niece and nephew at games and dance performances, and was always everywhere with her mother.
She was preceded in death by her dad, Eugene W. Briceño; grandfather, Procopio Lopez. Grandparents: Antonio and Gertrude Briceño; and uncles: Joseph Lopez, Richard Perkins and Nick Briceño.
She is survived by her mother, Rita Ann Briceño, sister, Dee Ann Hernandez and fiancé Melvin Roybal; her nephew, Michael Herandez "Buggy-Boo"; niece, Kristine Hernandez "Princess"; grandmother, Mary Ann Lopez; her aunt, Senator Linda Lopez, uncle who was like a brother, Charles Briceño and wife Beth; aunt, Ruth Perkins; uncle, Antonio "Jr." Briceño and wife Nadine; boyfriend, Martin Lobato; David Ortiz, her second dad and his wife Mary Lee and their children Ama and Seo; and numerous cousins and other relatives and friends.
She was a student at the University of Phoenix and was only a few classes away from obtaining her Bachelor's Degree in Business and had hoped to obtain her Master's Degree in Architecture.
She had an outgoing personality and great smile, she will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all of those who knew her.
A rosary will be recited on Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. at the St. Anne's Catholic Church in Santa Fe. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Anne's Catholic Church.
