Nazario Varela, 62, of Pecos, passed away early Saturday, February 23, 2008 following a short illness. Preceded in death by his parents, sister Mary Gonzales, brothers; Ernesto Varela, Filemon Varela, and Teodoro Varela. Survived by nieces and nephews; Louie Varela, Molly Padilla (Chris), Rosella Varela, Theresa Varela-Herrera, Lee Ann Baca, Joseph Varela, Manuel Varela, and Mary Ann, Very good friend; David Gonzales, numerous great nephews and nieces, and other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated: 9:00am Friday, February 29, 2008 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Pecos, with burial to follow at Pecos Cemetery.
