Nelson Garcia

Angels took our beloved Nelson to heaven on July 13, 2015. Nelson was born in Mora NM. on January 2, 1947 to the late Phil and Corine Garcia. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Walter, Donald and Julian Garcia and a special aunt, Cres Valdez. He is survived by his children Phillip Garcia (Cynthia), Pam Garcia-Ramirez (Frank) and Justin Garcia; his grandchildren Jasmin, Zeke, Zack, Gabriella and Messiese; his brothers Ruben (Nicole), Clarence (Bernadette); his sisters Gloria Lujan (Gilbert), Juanita Garcia (Donald), Rita Davis (Daniel) and Mary Vigil (Toby) and many nieces and nephews. Nelson graduated from Santa Fe High School in 1966 and then the National Electronic Institute in Denver, Colo. He served in the Army during the Vietnam era in Camp Page Korea. He work for the City of Santa Fe, the NM National Guard and retired from the State of NM. A rosary is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Thursday with a Mass following at 11 a.m. at Santa Maria de la Paz Catholic Church, burial with full military honors will follow the Mass at the National Cemetery.
