Mrs. Nena Sisneros went to be with the Lord, her saviour, on April 18, 2012 at the age of 69 years old. Her final days were spent surrounded by family members, relatives and special friends. Nena Sisneros was born in El Rito, New Mexico on September 9, 1942. She is survived by her husband Gilbert Sisneros; three sons, Gil, Anthony and Matthew; their wives Holly, Nadia and Yohanna; three brothers David, Pat and George Chavez; three sisters Rose Downing, Mary Walsh and Arlene Padilla and 9 wonderful grandchildren (Ellie, Chelsy, Nicholas, Joshua, Kyle, Anthony-John, Jacob, Isabella and Micahel. Nena and Gilbert were married on August 10, 1961 and they moved to northern California in 1964. Nena loved the Lord and raised her family attending Shiloh Church in Oakland. She loved children and earned her Childcare Certificate at Laney College. She worked at the churchs day care center for many years until she started her own day care business, Much Love Day Center that she managed for 10 years. Through the church and her work with children, she developed long-lasting friendships and was loved by countless friends. Nena had a very nurturing and loving spirit and was considered a pseudo mother by many family members and friends.
Mrs. Sisneros will lie in state throughout the day on Monday April 23rd in the mortuary chapel, for friends and family that wish to pay their respects. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday morning at 11:30a.m. at El Buen Pastor Church, 609 Calle Rivera, in Espanola. The committal service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at The Santa Fe National Cemetery, and a reception will then take place at 3pm at The American Legion Hall 1601 Berry Avenue, in Santa Fe.
