Nicholas Chacon

Nicholas chacon beloved son and brother, age 32, a resident of Fairview New Mexico, passed away on Wednesday December 22, 2021 due to a long illness. He is preceded in death by his father Lawrence A. Maestas, grandmother Cora Chacon whom he adored and missed greatly, grandparents Avenicio and Adelina Maestas and great grandparents Teofila and Jose Martinez, great grandparents Adonelia and Juan Chacon and his uncle Joseph Maestas.

Nicholas is survived by his mother Deborah Chacon and companion Orlando Jacquez, brother Orlando Juacquez Jr., grandfather Ben Chacon and auntie Donna and uncle Jesse Marquez, cousins Jenna Marquez and Cory Marquez.

Nicholas was a amazing person with a very big heart of gold and a beautiful son that had autism and Asperger syndrome. He was a big joker he enjoyed life in so many different ways. Nicholas will be missed. He had a big heart and he enjoyed helping anyone that needed it. Nicholas was taken away too young. He was a amazing musician he could play the drums, bass, guitar and keyboard and Nicholas enjoyed having conversations and spending time with his baby brother and his favorite words were dude, chick, awesome and he enjoyed watching wrestling WWE his favorite wrestler was Jeff Hardy and the Undertaker.

Everyone that knew Nicholas loved him and enjoyed being with him and he loved giving hugs like the embrace of a Angel. Nicholas came into the world like an angel and he departed this world like a glowing bright light like an angel. He did enjoy going to the horse races with his grandfather Ben and enjoyed his aunt Donna’s menudo she made for Nicholas anytime he wanted it. He loved her very much and Donna was adored by Nicholas she was his God mom and the only aunt he knew. Nicholas adored all his family.

"Nicholas was my son was not just a son he was my best friend and partner we helped each other out on everything and we took care of each other. Nicholas also adored his late mentor Bert Jacquez because he was the one that taught him how to be a musician and he called him Uncle Bert

And I think father John for all the help he gave our family in this time of sorrow and loss and I appreciate the comfort he has given the Chacon and Jacquez family as well and i would like to thank Dr. Viooehas for the care he provided well he was in the hospital.

I also want to thank all the other relatives for all the phone calls and support."

A rosary will be recited on Saturday January 15, 2021 at 11:00am at Iglesia de Santa Cruz de Canada with The Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:30am. Interment will be at Vallecitos Catholic Cemetery in Vallecitos, NM. Fr. John will preside over services. 

Pallbearers are Orlando Jacquez Jr,  Jenna Marquez, Cory Marquez, Joseph Jacquez, Tim Marquez and Boyd Dunnigan.

Honorary Pallbearers are Ben Chacon,  Orlando Jacquez, Jesse Marquez, Debbie Jacquez and Melissa Marquez.
