ODELIA A. (DELLA) BAKER, 94, a resident of Española transitioned on Saturday May 19, 2018, at her home surrounded by her loving family, sister and brothers, following a lengthy illness. She dedicated her life to God, and to her family, whom she always encouraged to pursue their dreams. She was preceded in death by her Husband; Dwight Joe Baker, parents, Antonio P. Archuleta and Marcelina Leyba Archuleta, sisters, Ramonita and her husband Vicente Roybal, Susie and her husband Tony Atencio; brothers, Baltazar Archuleta, Felipe and his spouse Florentina Archuleta , Paulino and his spouse Margaret Archuleta, sister-in-laws, Lydia Archuleta, Teddy Archuleta, Frances Archuleta, Brother In law; Teodoro Casados. Della Baker is survived by her only child, Lou Baker and spouse Paul Flaherty, former son-in-law Manuel Montoya and companion Ms. Roberta Payne, granddaughter Cari Mace and fiancé Rob Baran, grandson Terry Mace and companion Ms. Veronica Batitsa. Sisters, Julia Casados, Jenny and spouse Gus Martinez, brothers; David Archuleta, Mike Archuleta and Jose Archuleta. Sister-in-law Shirley Archuleta, Brother in law; James and Grace Baker, Cousin; Manuel Archuleta and companion Ms Suzanne, and numerous other loving nephews, nieces, relatives & friends. Odelia enjoyed meeting people during her tenure as a docent at the Bond House Museum and Mision y Convento. She was a dedicated supporter of the Rio Arriba County Democratic Party, she loved politics. Odelia worked at the DeVargas Mall Furr's Cafeteria for many years. Service of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday May 26, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. at Mision y Convento, in the Plaza de Española with burial to follow at 11:15 a.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery with the following serving the family as pallbearers: Trish Flores, Brian Colon, Alex Leyba, Geraldine Trujillo, Raymond Gallegos and Zacharias Martinez. The family of Odelia A. Baker entrusted the care of their loved one to Rivera Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley. A special thank you to Del Corazon Hospice staff, Kathleen Maley, O.D., Pam, RN, Hampton Mabry, Chaplain Meghan Nugent social worker and Myra Vigil. The staff of the Rio Arriba County Health and Human Services; Ms Clarissa Duran, Stephanie Vasquez, Gloria Romero and others. The staff of Ideal Home Care, Inc. Karen , Glenda, Veronica Batista and Terry Mace.
