Odelia (Oddie) Garcia Oddie passed away peacefully in her home in Los Alamos at the age of 93. She was a very loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother to her family. She was born on April 28, 1922 in Ocate, NM. When she was five years old, Oddie and her family moved to Rock Springs Wyoming, where she was raised and graduated from high school. Oddie married Eddie Garcia on October 18, 1946 and in 1948, they moved to Los Alamos, NM. As a young mother, Oddie taught catechism and she was a Cub Scout Den Mother. Oddie served as funeral/reception organizer at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish for eight years. Oddie worked for 20 years and retired from the Los Alamos Schools. Oddie’s hobbies included quilting with all her girls, crocheting, cooking and baking, and camping with all her family. Oddie is survived by her children, Pearl and Ted Armijo, Robert and Carol Garcia, Anna and Art Montano, and Marcia and Tim Gallegos, her sister Tillie Trujillo and brother Adolph Lucero, sister-in-law’s Billy Garcia, Lucy Casias, and Jane Garcia, her grandchildren Steve and Martha Armijo, Christina and Roger Gonzales, Roberta and Mark Wiggins, Michael Garcia, Robert Martinez, Aaron Montano and Candice, Don Gallegos and Becky, Nicole Gallegos and Cali, her great grandchildren Lauren, Ryan, and Noah Armijo, Megan and Michaela Wiggins, Adrianna and Gabriella Gonzales, Mia and Ava Martinez, and Blake and Jett Montano. Oddie was preceded in death by her husband Eddie Garcia, her parents Adolph and Matilde Lucero, Sister Annie Cordova, Brother Richard Lucero. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Juanita Chavez and family for their life-long years of friendship support and love. Also a warm and special thanks to all of her caregivers for their compassionate care. A Rosary was recited on Friday, December 4, 2015, followed by Funeral Mass at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and burial at Guaje Pines Cemetery in Los Alamos. Odelia's family wishes to acknowledge with heartfelt appreciation your kind expression of sympathy during this difficult time.
