Olympia "Ola" Montes-Garcia

Olympia "Ola" M. Montes-Garcia, 90, a long time resident of Santa Fe died peacefully on Sunday December 20, 2009 with her children by her side. She was active in the catholic community and enjoyed supporting the various parishes in Santa Fe. She was loved by her many friends and treasured by her family, and will be deeply missed by all of them. Mrs. Garcia is preceded in death by her parents Mr. and Mrs. Jesus Maria Montes and Tomasita Aldaz Montes, son Eloy Montes (WWII), brothers; Albert, Clovis, Serapio and Fred Montes and sister Lucia Gonzales, grandson Anthony Justin Grisham and brother-in-law Ignacio Torres, good friend Lucinda Montes. She is survived by her husband Fernando Rivera-Garcia, children Richard Garcia and wife Esther of Santa Fe, Fernando Garcia, Jr. and wife Evelyn of La Mesilla, Linda Garcia-Grisham of Santa Fe and David Ernest Montes Garcia of Santa Fe, 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, siblings; Jesus Montes, Jr. and wife Lucia, Dolores Montes and wife Amelia, Emma Richardson and husband Albert and Amanda Torres. Recitation of the rosary will be held on Monday December 28th at 7:00 pm. at Santa Maria de la Paz Catholic Church located on Richards Ave. in Santa Fe. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 am. also at church with interment to follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery on Rodeo Rd. in Santa Fe.
