Onofre Salazar – Age 66 a resident of Medanales, New Mexico passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2005 following a lengthy illness. She married Jose Gregorio Salazar on January 24, 1959, in Abiquiu, New Mexico. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Gregorio Salazar on September 10, 2005; a son, Peter Salazar; father and mother, Jose Leon and Bernardita Abeyta; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Gregorio and Josefita Salazar. She is survived by her two sons: Gregory Salazar of the home and Dennis Salazar and Evelyn Maruska of Velarde; one daughter, Pita Salazar and Lorenzo Quintana of Española; two granddaughters: Stephanie Salazar of Española and Camila Salazar and fiance Randy Garcia of Española; one grandson, Dennis Peter Salazar of Española; two step-granddaughters: Kristine and Jimmy Moya of Las Cruces, New Mexico and Jackie and Spencer Smith of Tennessee. She is also survived by a brother, Carlos Abeyta and wife Concha of Miami, AZ; sisters: Cleo and husband Dan Calistro of Flagstaff, AZ, Margaret Serna of Phoeniz, AZ, Alice Lopez of Abiquiu, Sister Bernardita Abeyta of Española and Josie and husband Mike Trujillo of Española; 2 sisters-in-law: Eufemia Maestas and husband Santiago and Angie Maestas all of Chile; an aunt, Ignacita Martinez of Española; a special nephew and niece: Delvin Lopez and wife Connie of Phoenix, AZ and Simme Reyes of Rio Chama; and numerous other beloved nieces and nephews and other relatives and numerous friends. Public visitation will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2005 at 5:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Block-Salazar Mortuary where a wake service will be held at 7:00 p.m. A second rosary will be recited on Friday, October 14, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. at the San Antonio Catholic Church in Medanales. Public visitation will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2005 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the chapel of Block-Salazar Mortuary. Public visitation will be held on Sunday, October 16, 2005 at 12 noon in the Chapel of Block-Salazar Mortuary where a rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated On Monday, October 17, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at the San Antonio Catholic Church in Medanales. Burial will follow at the San Antonio Cemetery in Medanales with the following serving as pallbearers: Jonathan Lopez, Michael Trujillo, Lionel Roy Maestas, Dennis Peter Salazar, Joseph Maestas and David Victor Lopez. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be: Monica Roybal, Ruby Lujan, Camila and Stephanie Salazar and Randy Garcia.
