Owen F. O’Keefe, “The Big O,” 72, long-time resident of Olympia, Washington died on May 16, 2018 in a hiking accident near Taos, New Mexico. Owen was doing what he loved, in a place he loved, the Wild Rivers National Monument where he and his wife, Sandy were park volunteers. He was in a very happy place in his life — full-time
RVing and looking for that perfect 75 degree weather and that perfect mountain to hike.
Throughout his life Owen was a successful entrepreneur and former owner of Always Safe and Lock in Olympia, Washington. He could quite often be found standing behind the counter sharing stories and pearls of wisdom with his customers and friends.
Owen lived life from his heart and will be dearly missed by his wife of 47 years, Sandra O’Keefe; his two sons Owen R. O’Keefe and Danny O’Keefe and their families including his grandson Owen O’Keefe.
Family and friends whose lives Owen touched are welcome to celebrate his life well lived on Sunday, June 24, 2018 from 2:00 to 6:00 at the Regents Center, 3185 NE Regents Drive, Portland, Oregon 97212.
