Pablo S. Casados Jr. passed away on August 21, 2016 surrounded by his Family. Pablo was born on November 24, 1928 to Pablo S. Casados Sr. and Manuelita Madrid of Los Ojos, NM. Pablo was preceded in death by his parents, a son Paul S. Casados III, a sister Belinda Moseley, a brother Ted Casados, Step-Mother Carlota Casados, and his wife of 64 years, Helen Casados. Pablo is survived by his Sons, Edward and Joe Casados of Llaves, Jeffrey L. Casados Sr. & wife Nancy of Aztec, his Daughters, Josephine Gonzales & husband Richard of Bloomfield & Vandora P. Casados of Llaves. Brothers, Ross Casados, Benito Casados & wife Janet of California, Tomas Casados & Stella, Sisters, Teofila Valdez, JoAnne Martinez & Elipio, and sister-in-law, Julia Casados. Pablo graduated from High School at the age of 16 in 1944. Immediately thereafter he became employed with the US Postal Service. On September 11, 1950, he married Helen. Pablo was then drafted to serve his country with the U.S. Army in the Korea War. Pablo received his Honorable Discharge in April of 1953. After serving his Country, he was employed as a Coal Miner and an Oil Field hand, until his employment with the U.S. Forest Service. Pablo retired with the USFS after 32 years. Pablo is one of the toughest men we will ever know, better known as “a man of pure rawhide”. Pablo enjoyed hunting in his earlier days acquainting himself with other hunters sharing his experience & offering his guidance, safety and survival measures. Pablo sketched a map for the hunters so that they would not get lost. Pablo knew the forest like the back of his hand. Pablo manned the Deadmans’ Peak Lookout Tower and marked timber while employed with the Forest Service. Pablo stated “that his life with the USFS was not a job, it was a way of life”. He treasured the great outdoors and referred to our National Forest as “his Mountain”. Composing the Eulogy is nephew, Travis Moseley. Pallbearers and Honorary Pallbearers are all his Grandsons and Great Grandsons. A Rosary will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Gallina. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Gallina. Interment will follow to the Family Cemetery in Llaves.
