Pat G. Martinez - Age 78 a lifelong resident of Santa Cruz passed away peacefully on Friday, February 8, 2008 alongside his loving wife, Consuelo and family. He was preceded in death by his parents: Patricio and Manuelita Martinez; brothers: Roman Martinez and Tony Martinez; sister, Agada Esquibel and his father and mother-in-law, Manuel and Lorencita Velarde. May their precious souls rest in peace. Mr. Martinez retired after 42 years as a pipe fitter and welder for the Local Union 412 in Los Alamos. He owned L & M Welding in El Llano, he was a World War II Veteran of the United States Army. Having received the Army of Occupation Victory Metal. He was very talented in working with steel and wood as a welder and carpenter. He took great pride in his work and was a great role model for his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Consuelo Martinez; children: Sheila Rivera and husband Gilbert of Fairview, Virginia Baca and husband Artie of Santa Fe, Armando Martinez and wife Rosie of Santa Cruz, Larry Martinez and wife Sylvia of Santa Fe, Paul Martinez and wife Bernice of Santa Cruz, Antoinette Padilla and husband Ted of Hernandez; Louis Martinez of Albuquerque, Patrick Martinez and fiancé, Johanna Martinez; brother, Jose Ignacio Martinez of Sombrillo; sister, Susie Romero of Albuquerque; 21 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. A wake service will be held on Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Block-Salazar Mortuary. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the El Buen Pastor Church in Ranchitos.
