Patricia (Martinez) Pena Griffin, 83, a lifelong resident of Taos passed away on January 26, 2013 at Holy Cross Hospital surrounded by family. She was owner and operator of the Don Pasqual Martinez Bed and Breakfast in Ranchos where she loved visiting her many visitors and friends. Patricia was known for her hand crafted Native American dolls. She was a direct descendent of the Martinez Hacienda in Ranchitos. Patricia was preceded in death by her grandfather, Pasqual Martinez; father, Palemon Martinez (Mary) of Taos; mother, Bernice (Wayne) Brown of Las Vegas, NM; grandchildren, Gail (Griffin) Martinez and Dion Lavery. She is survived by her son, Jerry Griffin and wife, Frances; daughter, Suzanne Lavery; sisters, Peggy (Martinez) Hurtado of San Francisco, CA and Marcella Valerio and husband, Dan of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Jerry A. Griffin and wife, Shawna, their daughter Haley and son Gavin; Steven Lavery and wife, Candace; Jeremiah and wife, Elizabeth and sons, Joseph, David and Daniel; great grandson Jeremy Griffin and wife, Jamie and their sons, Jeremy Jr. and Jonah.
In accordance with her wishes, a private family memorial will be held.
