Patricia Anne Pipkin
March 17, 1945 – January 11, 2023
Patricia Anne Pipkin, 77, passed away on January 11, 2023 at her home in Santa Fe, NM.
Pat was an amazing and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her family was at the center of her life and she was the heart of her family. Pat was loved dearly by all and will be greatly missed.
Pat was born March 17, 1945 in Bozeman, Montana to Mildred and Merrill Fink. She lived on a cattle ranch until she was six years old. Her father was a professional polo player and rancher and in the 1950s they moved to Ocala, FL where her parents brought Black Angus cattle to Florida.
Pat received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The University of Florida in 1967, after which, she was a nurse at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. There she met her husband, Bob, a surgical resident. Bob served in Vietnam from August 1968 to August 1969 and upon his return, they married in Baltimore on August 21, 1969. After Bob completed his residency, they moved the family to the California Bay Area in 1974 where Bob practiced cardiac surgery, Pat received her real estate license and she began her 40+ years career in real estate. Pat’s passion and dedication for Realtor organizations and leadership was an inspiration. She became Board President of the Peninsula West Valley Association of Realtors, to name one of the many leadership roles Pat held in California. Bob and Pat lived a beautiful and full life in California raising their beloved family, enjoying their careers, exploring the beauty of California, delighting in the opera, tailgating at Stanford football games, and cherishing fabulous dinner parties with friends and family.
In the 1980s Pat and Bob started visiting Santa Fe, NM for medical meetings. They quickly fell in love with Santa Fe and the state of New Mexico. Pat loved the four seasons and felt like she was coming home. In 1998 they became permanent residents of Santa Fe, NM. Pat’s passion for real estate grew even further while in Santa Fe, serving on government affairs committees for both local, state, and national realtor associations. She held positions and achieved recognitions including: 2007 President of Santa Fe Association of Realtors, 2008 President of Realtors Association of New Mexico, 2013 National Association of Realtors Regional Vice President, Region XI, and 2013 Realtor of the Year for Realtors Association of New Mexico.
Patricia is preceded in death by her parents, Mildred and Merrill Fink. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Robert Pipkin, her children: Michael (Stase), Kristin (Curtis), Rebecca, Sean (Kristina), and Donald (Sarah), her nine grandchildren: Brittany (Chris), Nolan (Lindsey), Lindsay, Chandler (Nathan), Isabella, Trevor, Trent, Cole, and Maddox, and her great-grandchildren: Cali Marie and Nolan.
Pat’s joy and love for life, her family, friends, dogs, cooking and entertaining, her real estate career, her book clubs, the opera, the arts, reading, and traveling had no bounds. She read cookbooks like they were novels and her journals were full of recipes and memories of entertaining friends and family. She opened up her beautiful home for the most amazing meals and occasions with loved ones.
The following are a few heartfelt sentiments from friends and family: “Pat was a leader, friend, and best cook I ever met,” “Her radiance, kindness, and most exhilarating laughter will remain in my heart forever,” “She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, a staunch and loving friend, she will be missed by all who knew her,”
“So many memories of singing, cooking, and dancing, the ‘Pat & Bob’ show, and laughing until we cry,” “You brought light, laughter, and joy to every moment,” “Your love for all of us was so fierce and joyful,” “Our forever Dancing Queen.”
May Pat’s light and love for life shine through us all and may she be resting in peace amongst the angels of heaven. A celebration of Patricia’s life will be held at a future date.
