Paul Nathan Lewis
October 28,1928- March18,2024Beloved Paul N Lewis went home to be with our Lord on March 18, 2024. Born on October 28, 1928, to George and Cleo (Fitch) Lewis. He was raised to prioritize faith and family.
Paul loved people. He believed the best way to share his faith was through works. He dedicated his life to service. As an ordained non-denominational pastor with an MA in Communications, engineering background a commercial pilots license. Paul brought many skills to his work. He served 40 years in Brazil with Mission Aviation Fellowship. He started an aircraft mechanical shop. He provided education and training to the local people who now run the program. He loved Brazil, it was home. It was so hard for him to leave so many family and friends behind when he went to work in Mozambique helping with air food relief during the famine.
In 1996 after triple bypass surgery in South Africa , four heart attacks, and angioplasty Paul “retired” to Santa Fe. Paul was grateful to have gotten into affordable housing and was committed to help others do the same.
He was on the boards of Housing Trust, Tierra Contenta and Habitat for Humanity, He helped build houses, maintain and repair equipment. He is known as a man who can fix anything.
His family will remember him as their spiritual leader, role model, loving father.
He is preceded in death by parents George and Cleo Lewis, Brother David Lewis, Sisters Marguerite Wilson, Phyllis Smith, son James Arthur Lewis.
He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years Jacquelyn Phalen Lewis; his sister Joanne Lewis Lund. Daughters Paula (Neal) Devitt; Ruth (Luiz) Coura; Daughter in law Heide Lewis.
Sons: Mark (Fonda) Lewis, Daniel (Ana) Lewis
Grand children: Sheila Devitt, Gabriel Devitt, Jessica Devitt (Nicolas) Devitt Busquet, Nicholas(Hannah) Devitt, Paulo (Katia) Coura, David Coura (Linya) Coura, Timoteo (Renata) Coura, Juliana (Marcelo) Laraburu , Jaqueline (Fernando) Siqueira, Aaron (Sarah) Lewis, August Lewis, RaCayle (Grant) Harrison, Caitlyn Eppes,
Great Grand Children: Lucas Coura, Laura Coura, Ana Clara Coura, Ana Luisa Coura, Mateus Coura, Ruth Lewis, Hosea Lewis, Rebecca Lewis, Elijah Lewis, Beckett Harrison, Griffin Harrison, Elisa Laraburu, Thomas Laraburu. Many extended family members and friends who we also consider family.Internment at 3:00pm at Cannon Mathis Cemetery in Waller Texas.
Celebration of Life at 6:00pm at The Katy Gardens, Katy Texas.
