Paul E. "Uncle Paul" Salazar Age 65 – a resident of Espanola and previously of Santa Cruz, passed away on Thursday, November 15. Paul was a veteran of the United States Army, during the Vietnam Era. He was a former cook at the Plaza Café in Santa Fe. Recently he was a property caretaker for Black Mesa Pet Grooming in La Mesilla. He worked as a roofer, construction and was a "Jack of all Trades". He enjoyed caring for his chickens and geese. He is preceded in death by his father, Juan Cruz Salazar; mother and step-father: Juanita and Manuel Garcia; brothers: Manuel J. Garcia, Jr. and Johnny Salazar. He is survived by his children: Martha Salazar and fiancé Alvaro Garcia of Espanola and Leopoldo Salazar of Las Cruces; grandchildren: Henry Trujillo, Jr. and wife Tiffany of Espanola, Kayla Salazar and Esperanza Salazar of Alcalde; great-granddaughter, Riana Martinez of San Ildefonso; brother, Ricardo Espinoza; sisters: Rosana S. Fernandez of Chili, Savina Martinez and husband Richard of Espanola, Flora Chavez, Maria Salazar, Alice Marquez and husband Gilbert all of Santa Cruz, Teddie Sisneros and husband Michael of Espanola, Lucy Salazar, Dennis Salazar, Virginia Salazar of Chimayo and Clara Martinez and husband Bobby of Rio Rancho; a special friend, Toby Vigil and many other relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Sunday, November 18 at 7:00 pm. in the Chapel of Block-Salazar Mortuary.
