PERFILIA “PERCY” BAROS

September 15, 1936   ~   July 14, 2022

Perfilia Baros passed away peacefully at her home Thursday, July 14, 2022.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Onesimo “Nick” Baros; sons, Robert “Bob” Baros and John Baros;  and her mother Arelia Bustos.  She is survived by her children; Ernest Baros and wife Rose, Dorothy Baros, Carol Pool and husband Richard, Raymond Baros, Patricia Runyan and husband Hubert, and Steve Baros. Also surviving are her brothers, Joe Garcia and wife Viola and Gilbert Angel and wife Connie; along with her many grandchildren, great grand children and great great grandchildren.

Percy was a home maker and also worked as a waitress for several years at the Shed, and later at Castro’s Restaurant.  She enjoyed shopping and going to the casino.  Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.  She was always happy when all her family were gathered together for holidays and special events.  She deeply loved visits from her grandchildren and great grandchildren and their babies; she always maintained that’s what kept her going.  Her family is deeply saddened by her loss, but also so grateful for the time they had to spend with her.  Percy taught them so much, most to be strong and to be there for each other.  She would say “hold on tight to your families and cherish every moment with them”.

Her family expresses their deepest gratitude to Ambercare Hospice for their care; her nurse Sheryl for the great love and care she gave to Percy.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 Monday, August 1, 2022 at the Rivera Family Kiva Chapel, where a rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM Monday evening.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 am Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Santa Fe.  Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:30 AM Tuesday.
