Pete Archuleta

Pete C. Archuleta, age 72, a resident of El Rito, NM passed away peacefully on September 29, 2020. He was born on September 30, 1947, in El Rito, NM to Estella and Moises Archuleta. Pete is preceded in death by his father Moises Archuleta, mother Estella Archuleta, brother Camillo Archuleta, sister Genera Archuleta and baby brother Teddy Archuleta. He is survived by his wife Grace Archuleta, son Daniel Archuleta (Isela), daughter Victoria Knox (Lee), granddaughter Alexandra Archuleta and grandson Waylon Knox all of El Rito. Sisters Romie Oselio, Isabel Siqueiros (Beto), and Floraida Martinez (Augustine) and brothers Ted Archuleta (Frances), George Archuleta (Frances), Rudy Archuleta, Moises Archuleta Jr. (Genara), Cres Archuleta (Gail), Steve Archuleta (Isadora), and Tony Archuleta (Janet), along with many nieces and nephews.

Pete was an exceptional family man with a heart of gold. He loved all his family dearly. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. A great passion of his was spending time in the mountains and tending to his livestock. He loved sports, especially basketball. He enjoyed coaching grade school basketball and did so for several years. Pete spent time tinkering in his casita working on odds and ends.

The Holy Rosary will be prayed at 5:00 pm on Sunday, October 4, 2020, at The San Juan Nepomuceno Catholic Church in El Rito, New Mexico. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 5, 2020, also held at The San Juan Nepomuceno Catholic Church at 11:00 am. Burial will follow the Mass, next to the San Juan Nepomuceno Catholic Church. Serving the Archuleta Family as Pallbearers: Steve Archuleta, Ted Archuleta, George Archuleta, Moises Archuleta, Cres Archuleta, Rudy Archuleta, and Tony Archuleta. Honorary pallbearers: Felix Martinez and Robert Trujillo.

The family of Pete Archuleta has entrusted his care to the Rivera Family Funeral Home of Espanola.
