Peter Andrew Rommel was born on September 22, 1958 and tragically passed away on February 27, 2017 due to a heart condition. Peter is survived by: His two children, Caitlin and Dylan Rommel, their mother, Sara Betterton-Rommel, and Sara’s father, Robert Hensley His mother, Yolanda Rommel, his stepfather, Bob Rommel, and his biological father, Andy Musial. His life partner, Dawn Grainger, and her two children- Orion and Chloe Rojas-Grainger And his extended family, the Taos community. Peter was born in Poland. He and his mother moved to the United States in January of 1960. Growing up, Peter was a national champion in freestyle archery and graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor’s in Business Management. His dream was to work in the hospitality business. When he lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma, he owned and operated a bed and breakfast, the Savoy. Upon his passing, he was working at Berkshire Hathaway Taos Real Estate as a realtor and at the Historic Taos Inn in as Front Desk Manager on Duty Peter loved hiking, skiing, going on adventures, camping, nature, dancing, smarties, and every once in a while, a good fresh squeezed margarita. His dimples and smile would light up any room he entered, and he was well known for his compassion and heartful hugs.
