Phil Diaz Sr.

Phil Diaz Sr. – Age 84 a resident of El Guique and formally of Los Luceros passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2006 unexpectedly. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Diaz; son, Albert Diaz; parents: Manuel and Rosana Diaz; grandson, Casey Montoya III; 4 brothers; and 3 sisters. May their souls rest in peace. Mr. Diaz served in the United States Army during WWII. He is survived by his sister, Josie Espinoza of Los Luceros; son, Phil Diaz Jr. and wife Marian of Fairview; daughter, Bernie Montoya of Fairview; grandchildren: Phyllis Miller and husband John of Albuquerque, Fabian Diaz of Arizona, Sandra Diaz of Fairview, Bridgette Diaz and companion Frank of La Puebla, Albert, Charles and Monica Diaz all of La Puebla, Mary Romero and her husband Isaac of Chimayo and Frances Roybal of Fairview; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends. Public visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 11th, 2006 at 5:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Block-Salazar Mortuary with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 12th, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh formally known as San Juan Pueblo. With Father Terry Brennan officiating. Burial will follow at the San Rafael Cemetery in El Guique with the following serving as pallbearers: Fabian Diaz, Ronald Espinoza, Ricky Lopez, Albert and Charles Diaz, Casey Montoya and Isaac Romero. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be: Phyllis Miller, Sandra, Bridgette and Monica Diaz, Frances Montoya and Mary Romero.
