Phillip Martinez

Mr. Phillip Martinez, age 64 of Albuquerque, went to his eternal rest on Monday April 23rd, 2012. He passed away after battling kidney failure and other complications connected to his illness, and will be dearly missed. Phillip was the son of former educators; Jose Pat Martinez and Dilia M. Martinez, who preceded him in death. A lifelong New Mexican, Phillip was born and raised in El Guache. He graduated from St. Michael's High School in Santa Fe and later attended the University of New Mexico. He was also a United States Marine Corps veteran. He is survived by his daughter Helene Martinez, sister Cecilia Martinez Sanchez and husband Michael Sanchez, his niece Karina Sanchez and two nephew;s Eric Sanchez and Christopher Sanchez. Recitation of Rosary will be held on Saturday April 28th at 6:00 P.M. in the chapel at Rivera Family Funeral Home in Espanola. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday May 1st at 11:00 A.M. at The Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Albuquerque, located at 5311 Phoenix Avenue NE, Albuquerque, NM., with Reverend William E. Young, Jr. officiating. Interment will be held at The Santa Fe National Cemetery with military honors, however a specific day & time is pending as well.
