Porfidia Encarnacion Benavidez

Porfidia Eñcarnacion Benavidez – Age 75 passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2006. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Benavidez; daughter, Margie Benavidez; son, Johnny Benavidez; daughter, Josie Suazo; brother, Pablo Gallegos; sister, Juanita Padilla; grandson, Adam Benavidez; great-grandson, Aaron Benavidez; and a son-in-law who took care of her, for many years, Paul Bernal. Porfidia was born on March 25, 1930 in Hernandez, NM to Bonifacio and Josephita Gallegos. She is survived by her children: Bonifacio Benavidez of Española, Benny Benavidez of Albuquerque, Barbara Bernal of Española, Diane Bustos and husband Michael of Hernandez, Joseph "Pepo" Benavidez of Española, Terrie Benavidez of Española and Gabriel Benavidez and wife Carmela of Albuquerque; daughter-in-law, Rose Benavidez; 18 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and numerous other relatives and friends. Public visitation will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2006 at 5:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Block-Salazar Mortuary with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 24, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at the San Jose Catholic Church in Hernandez with burial to follow at the San Jose Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Phillip and George Benavidez, Rick Chavez, Andrew Aguilar, Cyrus Trujillo and Mario Lovato.
