Priscilla Carrion Ulibarri

On Wednesday, April 2, 2025, Priscilla Carrion Ulibarri, passed away peacefully at the age of 80, while surrounded by her loving family.

Born in 1944, Priscilla was a native Santa Fean. As a girl, she attended Loretto Academy from Elementary through High School. She often told tales of her days at the all-girls school that was run by Catholic nuns. She had the great privilege of singing in the choir at the Loretto Chapel and would recount how, many times, she was allowed to walk up and down the Miraculous Staircase to attend choir practice.

Thanks to the rigorous studies at Loretto Academy, Priscilla would come out of high school equipped with secretarial skills that she would use to become the secretary to both the Mayor and City Manager at the time. While she enjoyed her work, Priscilla would eventually leave her position with the City, much to the dismay of her employers, to become a homemaker. She would spend the rest of her life at home, raising her children and later helping with her grandchildren.

Priscilla was preceded in death by her husband, Waldo R. Ulibarri Jr., and is survived by her 3 children, Dolores Disalvo, Waldo Ulibarri III, and Mia Ulibarri Derti, her 5 grandchildren and her 5 great grandchildren.

Priscilla will always be remembered by her quick wit, her deep love of animals, and her incredible strength. She has often been acknowledged, by many loved ones, as the person who was most influential in their lives. She was deeply loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Priscilla’s Rosary will take place at Rivera’s Funeral home on Tuesday, May 6th, at 5pm, and her funeral mass will be at the Cathedral Basilica on Wednesday, May 7th, at 11am.
