Ramon "Chick" Preciado, 78, of Santa Fe, passed away October 21, 2008.
Chick was born in Sonora, Arizona in 1930. In 1960 he moved to Los Alamos, New Mexico, where he worked as a machinist in the labs and performed in musical theater. Chick continued to explore music, chiefly in the areas of dance and percussion, even after he retired to Santa Fe in 1990, he was the drummer for the Jose Gonzales trio, and sang and played congas with the Santa Fe Great Big Jazz Band. Chick was one of the great entertainers. We'll sorely miss his musical passion and his personality.
