Bio Ramon Ernesto Ulibarri, 4-11-19c

Ernesto Ulibarri was born in Las Nutrias, New Mexico, on Feb. 19, 1936. Later the family moved to La Puente. When he was 16, he moved to Los Angeles, where he worked at a mattress-making company. After returning to the Chama Valley, he married and started a family. He worked on construction projects like Heron Dam and the Azoteo Tunnel and later moved to Albuquerque, where he worked for Universal Constructors Inc. for 18 years, until an accident on the job forced him into early retirement. In 2001, Ernesto married Deborah Jane Begel. They lived in La Madera for 17 years, which is where he took up Spanish Colonial furniture making and won awards. He had a stroke on Friday, April 5th and passed away on Monday, April 8th. He leaves behind his wife Deborah, his sons Duane and Rodney Alfred Ulibarri and his daughter Mona Ulibarri.
