Randall Blaine Staton, age 55, passed unexpectedly early in the morning on September 10th in his Taos home. Randall spent the majority of life in southern California and Kansas City, Missouri. After years of loving the beauty and vibe of Taos from afar and visiting as often as he could, he made Taos his permanent home in 2018.
Randall had his Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology and was an LPCC. He worked within mental health services his entire career. In his last years, he found his perfect fit in substance abuse treatment at Shadow Mountain Recovery Center in Taos.
Randall was intelligent, stubborn, caring, spiritual, and opinionated. He was sweet and sensitive yet incredibly strong and protective. He loved his family, friends, live music, basketball, birds of prey, the beach, beer, coffee, sunsets, convertibles, motorcycles, and his back “dorch.”
Randall was preceded in death by his grandparents and little sister, Rachel Staton. He is survived by his two daughters, Emery and Ellis Staton; his two sisters, Rena Lolley and Rhonda Staton; and his parents, Julia and Knofel Staton, as well as three nephews, two great-nieces and one great nephew.
A celebration of life will likely be held on October 1st in Kansas City and October 15th in Taos, NM. For more exact details and to receive more information, please e-mail statonmemorial@gmail.com.
