Raymond Naranjo, age 99, a long-time resident of Santa Clara Pueblo passed away peacefully at his home on December 10, 2022. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He served as a Tribal Sherrif and Lt. Governor of the Pueblo and retired from the Bureau of Indian Affairs law enforcement at the rank of Captain. He also served in the U.S. Army during WWII serving with the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment( the unit that now guards the Tomb of the Unknown Solider) and was awarded a bronze star.
Rosary was held at Rivera Family Funeral Home in Espanola from 5pm to 7pm on December 13, 2022.
The body laid in state at the family home on Wednesday December the 14, 2022.
Mass as Santa Clara Church was held on Thursday December 15, 2022 at 8am.
Burial took place on December 15th at 10am at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
The family has entrusted the care of their loved one to Rivera Family Funeral Home of the beautiful Espanola Valley.
