Raymundo D. Griego

Raymundo D. Griego – Age 74 of Tesuque passed away on Saturday, December 16th, 2006. He was preceded in death by his parents: Demecio and Francisquita Griego; Grandson, Jonathan Grant who died in action in the Iraq War; brother, Fred Griego; sister, Cleo Benavidez; sisters: Adela Jimenez and Erminia Montoya; and brothers-in-law: Lucas Benavidez and Pedro Montoya. May their souls rest in peace. Raymundo was born on March 15th, 1932 to Demecio and Francisquita Griego in Tesuque, New Mexico. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Modesta Griego of Tesuque; daughters: Lila Ortiz and husband Gilbert of Tesuque, Dorothy Apodaca and companion Ricardo of Santa Fe, Dora Quintana and husband Manuel of La Puebla, Anna Sena and husband David and Margarita Sandoval and husband George all of Albuquerque, Toni Mendonca and husband Chris of Santa Fe and Rose Santos of Tesuque; sons: Frank Griego and wife Liz of Tesuque and Felix Griego and companion Shirley of Santa Fe; sister, Corina Nieto and husband Julian of Tesuque; brothers: Feliberto Griego and wife Rita of Santa Fe and Alfonso Griego and wife Nellie of Tesuque; brother-in-laws: Jose Jimenez and wife Tessie and Johnny Jimenez and wife Elain all of Albuquerque; sisters-in-law: Senovia Benavidez and husband Jackie of Tesuque and Mary Dunlap of Santa Fe; 25 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and numerous other relatives and friends. Recitation of the Rosary was recited on Wednesday, December 20, at 7:00 p.m. at the San Isidro Catholic Church in Tesuque. Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated on Thursday, December 21, at 11:00 a.m. at the same church, with interment at the San Isidro Catholic Cemetery in Tesuque. Serving as pallbearers were: Frank and Elias Griego, Matthew and Justin Montoya, Eric and Chris Mendonca, Manuel Quintana, George Sandoval and Joseph Apodaca.
