Rebecca Baca

Rebecca D. Baca, 98, a life long resident of Santa Fe, passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2009, while living at the Victory Knoll Missionary Sisters of Huntington, Indiana. She is preceded in death by her parents Esquipula and Isabelita Romero Baca and sister Manuelita Baca Valdez. Rebecca was born on February 6, 1911, in Pena Blanca, NM. She retired from the State Corporation Commission after 28 years of service. She was a member of the Democratic Women of Santa Fe County, and served on the Bernalillo School District Board of Education for many years. She was also a member of the Secular Franciscans and St. Francis Altar Society. She is survived by her sister Sister Carlota Baca of Huntington, Indiana and numerous nieces, nephews, and many loving family members. A Rosary will be recited Monday, November 16, 2009 at 7:00pm at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 10:00am also at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi. Interment will follow at Rosario Cemetery.
