Rebecca Ann Cross, age 65 died peacefully in her sleep on January 24th, 2016 at her daughter's home in El Prado, NM surrounded by family after battling Cancer. She was born in Athens, OH, grew up in Lincoln, NE, raised her family in Dekalb, IL, Moved to Estes Park CO and then moved to New Mexico in 2001 where she found her dream home in Lama, NM. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Keith Broman. She is survived by her children: Kelly Sue Cross and her husband William Raup of Boulder, CO and Katryn "Kat" Cross and her husband Matt Philipps of El Prado, NM; Her Grandchildren (Max & Theo Kabjian and Skyler Cross-Philipps); her sister Lisa Haines and brother in law Scott Haines of Kansas City, MO; Brothers-In-Law Terry Cross and Jeff Cross; Cousins Craig & Susie Jones; her dog Bear and many dear friends and relatives. Rebecca was a warm and loving free spirit who loved her friends & family, music, reading, politics, gardening and good conversation. She spent much of her life working in various careers, including: realtor, personal assistant, bookkeeper, welder, grant writer, volunteer, cook, bartender, security guard, waitress and her favorite position was as a teacher/mentor at the San Cristobal Academy. A celebration of life was held on April 2, 2016 to honor her life. NM).
