Rebecca Esquibel, 92, passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2011. She was born on November 22, 1918. She was a loving woman all of her life that welcomed everyone into her house and was good to everyone. Her house was always first and last stop for the family and many in the community. She would feed everyone breakfast, lunch and dinner and was renowned in Taos for her bischochitos. She enjoyed her time with the family immensely and having her house full of family and friends everyday and at any hour. Her legacy will continue to bring the family hours of joy and laughter. She is preceded in death by her husband, Patricio Esquibel, parents, Venceslado Martinez and Francisquita Ross, great grandson, Joel torres, son in law, Charlie Velasquez and daughter in law, Manuelita Esquibel. She is survived by her children, Patsy Velasquez, Becky Torres (Carpio), Claude Esquibel, Sara Espinoza (Juby), Billy Esquibel (Trinia) and Frances Pancha Esquibel. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren, brothers and sisters, Ted Martinez, Angie Gutierrez and Carmen Cordova and countless nieces, nephews and cousins.
Rosary was recited on April 06, 2011 at Rivera Chapel. Funeral mass was held on April 07, 2011 at at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
Interment was held on April 08, 2011 at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
