Refugio L. Martinez – Age 90 a resident of Ojo Sarco passed away on Friday, December 29th, 2006. She was preceded in death by her husband, Juan Pedro Martinez; 5 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild. May their souls rest in peace. She was born on July 27th, 1916 to Leonides and Elvira Lopez in Chamisal, New Mexico. She married Juan Pedro Martinez on January 24th, 1938 in Peñasco, New Mexico. She is survived by her children: Jim Martinez and wife Lillian of Albuquerque, Filiberto Martinez and wife Marie of Chimayo, Lorenzo Martinez and wife Hazel of La Puebla, Pedro Martinez Jr. and wife Dorothy of Chimayo, Erlinda Martinez-Torrez and husband Gilbert of Cordova, Marina Montoya and husband David of Truchas, Alice Vasquez and husband Florentino of Chacon, NM, Olivia Gonzales and husband LeRoy of Albuquerque, Benito Martinez and wife Emily of Cordova, Evelyn Garcia and husband Fernando and Damian Martinez and wife Angela all of La Mesilla, Mercy Martinez of Albuquerque and Angela Urioste and husband Pilar of Rio Rancho; sister, Dora Romero and husband Avaristo of Chimayo; sister-in-law, Ofilia Lopez of La Trampas; her caretaker, Debbie Martinez of Truchas; 62 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. Public visitation will be held on Monday, January 1st, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Block-Salazar Mortuary with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A second rosary will be recited on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Block-Salazar Mortuary. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 3rd, 2007 at 10:00 am at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Truchas with burial to follow at the Ojo Sarco Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers: Gary and Carlos Martinez, Gilbert Torrez, Jr., Allen Vasquez and Daniel and Sammy Urioste. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be: Glenn and Peter Martinez, Lorenzo Lencho Martinez, Angelo and Alfred Vasquez, BJ, Lucas, Toby and Anthony Martinez and Leandro Urioste.
