Rene M. Roybal

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rene M. Roybal on December 10, 2024, at the age of 71. The world became brighter on January 6,1953 the day that Rene was born to Rufino and Flora Roybal.

Rene was a lifelong resident of Tesuque. He was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey on this earth was one marked by kindness, love, compassion, devotion, understanding, wittiness and willingness to help anyone who needed it. Rene was a quiet person but always knew the right thing to say at the right moment. Rene was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, who created a nickname for everyone. He was known as the best “parts man” in town.

Rene is survived and missed by his loving wife of 48 years Ginger; Forever cherished and remembered by his daughter Debra and husband Jorge. The light of his life, his grandson, Evan. Bonus daughter Joise and husband Lawrence. Siblings Rosemary, Gaby and husband John. He leaves behind many incredible nieces, nephews, family members and friends who will greatly miss him.

Rene is proceeded in death by his parents Rufino and Flora Roybal, his brothers Esperanza, Rumaldo, Johnny and sister Mags.

A celebration of Rene’s life will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Thursday December 19, 2024 at Rivera Family Funerals at 417 Rodeo Rd Santa Fe, NM. Reception to Follow at the Elks Lodge.
