Reymunda Garcia, 95 of Santa Fe, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 26, 2007. She was born to the late Juan and Alberta Montoya on May 29, 1912, five months after New Mexico became a State. She loved to cook and tend to her garden and especially care for her dear husband and son. She was completely selfless in allowing her son David to leave home at the age of 17 for the next 14 years to pursue his love of International travel and service to people in numerous countries. A special gift would be the love and care she would give while helping to raise many of her nieces and nephews. Her faith was above all else, and was natural for her to give her love of God and the Virgin Mary to her entire family. It was a great joy for Reymunda to have her son David return home to Santa Fe with a new bride Mary, who would become her own loving daughter. She would then be given the tremendous joy of having four grandchildren to love and cherish.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband David Manuel Garcia, brother, Juan Montoya, sisters, Nasha Escudero, Felice Montoya, Porfilia Catanach, Vicky Garcia, Mary Bransford, nieces, Carrie Clay and Tessie Sandoval, in-laws, Joe Catanach, Tito Gurule, Ignacio Trujillo, and Raymond Bransford. She is survived by her only son, David Garcia and his wife Mary of Santa Fe, four grandchildren, Hillary, Annie, Craig and David, sisters, Pita Gurule and Josie Trujillo, brother in-law, George Garcia and numerous nieces, nephews and their children, as well as many other relatives and friends.
A special appreciation to Dr. Kullman and his staff for the many years of their caring service, Lisa at Egis, Professional Health Care, Mary Alice Chavez, Annabelle Chacon, Anna and Mirna, Hospice, for loving Franciscan Sister Juanita, volunteers, Kim, Ann and Dottie, beloved Eucharistic Minister, Silvia Gurule, and loving and caring neighbor, Rosemarie.
