Richard B. Cassidy was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico on December 7th, 1981 and passed away on March 19th, 2025.
Rick Cassidy was a man of extraordinary talents and remarkable accomplishments. He is survived by his devoted wife, Denzler, and their two beautiful daughters, Gwynne and Maeve; his father, Rick Cassidy Sr., mother, Rebecca Martinez, grandparents, Bob and Marianne Kapoun and Celia Roman, and a large extended family including his stepmother, Elizabeth, step-siblings, Colin, Dustin, Nicole and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Rick grew up in Santa Fe, NM where he developed a deep love for the mountains and water. As a young child, he skied before taking his first steps, and later transitioned to snowboarding, becoming a professional sponsored amateur snowboarder in his early 20s, and traveled the world. In addition to his outdoor passions, he also enjoyed building and restoring muscle and vintage cars.
Rick earned an undergraduate degree in Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning from Arizona State University. After college he pursed his helicopter pilot license and a master’s degree in aerospace engineering. He was a multifaceted individual who excelled in various business endeavors going into hospitality ownership and management, conceiving the vision for numerous bars and restaurants across the nation.
Rick returned home in 2013 and obtained his GB 98 to be a general contractor, leading him to become Vice President of Cassidy’s Landscaping. This endeavor garnered many opportunities to play an active and philanthropic role in Ricks beloved hometown. His efforts included work for the Santa Fe Children’s Museum, Keep Santa Fe Beautiful, Santa Fe Teen Center, and Santa Fe Public Schools.
Above Rick’s many accomplishments, he took the most pride in the family he built with his wife, Denzler, and their two young daughters. He will leave an unforgettable mark on all those fortunate enough to know and love him and will be deeply missed. His kind heart, intellect, and laugh will live on.
