Richard Bedwell

Richard Lee Bedwell died peacefully in Albuquerque, New Mexico on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, with family by his side.  Born in Linton, Indiana on August 15, 1942, to parents, Larney James Bedwell and Minnie Catherine Cox. 

Richard is survived by a brother Larry Bedwell of Washington, Indiana.  Richard started his military career at Turner AFB in Georgia, he then was stationed at Upper Heyford in England meeting and marrying his wife of 54 years, Jane Bedwell.  Proceeded in death by his daughter-in-law, Tracy Bedwell, Richard is also survived by his son Michael Bedwell, daughter Maria Jaramillo, son-in-law Gene Jaramillo, grandchildren Luke Jaramillo, Lauren Hebert and her husband, Jonathan Hebert, and great grandchildren Jesse Carter Hebert and Levi Simon Hebert. 

Richard’s military career included a tour in Vietnam, assignments at Scott AFB, Illinois; Alconbury AFB, England; and Holloman AFB in New Mexico.  After fulfilling a civil service career, he retired in Alamogordo, New Mexico and then recently relocated to Los Lunas with wife to be closer to his family. 

Richard was a devoted husband and loving father as well as being active in his church.  He will be forever in our hearts and deeply missed.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on September 25, 2021 – 1:00pm at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Alamogordo, New Mexico.  In lieu of flowers, the family thanks you for donations to St. John’s Community Kitchen  www.stjohnsalamo.com
