Died, Richard B. L’Heureux, 86, of Santa Fe NM on Tuesday, May 10th. Dick was born on March 20, 1936, to Leon and Lois L’Heureux in Santa Fe and was a life-long resident. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration from St. Michael’s College, which would later become the College of Santa Fe. He worked at Los Alamos National Laboratories and moved on to operate his own construction company, Ponderosa Construction. He was very involved in his community including the alumni association of his alma mater as well as the Santa Fe County Home Builders Association, the Allemande Leftovers square dance club, and St. John the Baptist parish. He married Betty Rael in 1958. She proceeded him in death in 2017. He is survived by grandsons Aiden and Leo L’Heureux, daughter Michelle L’Heureux, and sons Mark, Edward, and Brian all of Santa Fe. Siblings include Lee L’Heureux, Camilla Landwehr, Kathleen L’Heureux, Karen Cooper (Chuck), and Judith Walker (Dave) and many nieces and nephews. He is an Army veteran and will be interred with his wife Betty in the Santa Fe National Cemetery on Monday, May 23 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be at Rivera Funeral Home on Thursday, May 19 at 6:00, rosary at 7:00. Funeral Mass at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Friday, May 20 at 11:00. Reception pending.
