RICHARD MONTOYA

MAY 4, 1941 – JUNE 3, 2021

Richard Montoya, 80-beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on June 3, 2021 surrounded by his loving family, following a brief illness.

Richard was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico to Frank and Amadita Montoya; the fifth of nine children. He worked for the State Highway Department for over 33 years before retiring to his ranch.

He lived simply and proudly, sharing the knowledge he acquired over his lifetime with others. Richard was preceded in death by parents, an infant sister, brothers, Frank Jr. and Tommy Montoya. He is survived by Senaida, his wife of 44 years, children Debbie (Bob), Amalia (Dean) and Ricardo (Kenda), five grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, his loving siblings, his many nieces, nephews, cousins and “adopted” grandchildren.

Funeral Services are under the direction of Rivera Family Funeral Home.

 A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. at the Rivera Kiva Chapel of Light, in Santa Fe. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 25, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. St. Anne Parish in Santa Fe.

A private burial for family will take place at a later date.
