Ricky Jerome Manges, 44 of Espanola, NM passed away on August 14, 2020 after a lengthy illness. Ricky was born on February 21, 1976 in Gallup, NM to Mary Rose and Franklin R. Manges.

Ricky is preceded in death by his father, Franklin Ricky Manges; his maternal grandparents, Ernesto and Lucy A. Romero; his aunt, Angie Martinez; and paternal grandparents, Glenn and Maria Manges.

Ricky is survived by his daughter, Grace Manges of Espanola, NM; his mother, Mary Rose Manges of Espanola, NM; his brothers, Nicholas Manges (Jennifer Gallegos) and Jonathan Manges (Valerie Manges) of Espanola, NM; his uncle, Donald Romero of Albuquerque, NM; his cousins, Jackie, Patrick, Edwina, Regina, Miguel and Ellena; his nieces, Alicia, Amiyah, Aria, Aubree and Meekha; and his nephews, Nathaniel, Cruzito, Sebastian, and Jurhmane.

Ricky is thought of by his family as a generous, caring, loving, and compassionate man who adored his daughter, Grace. He loved gathering with his family and was considered an awesome friend. Ricky loved going to movies and also out to eat, as he loved food, and was always open to new adventures. A sports lover and big Cowboys fan, Ricky also liked to play both football and softball himself. He will be remembered for his loving heart, his generous and caring nature, his amazing sense of humor. Ricky was a great father, son, brother, uncle, friend, and veteran.

Ricky served proudly as a U.S. Navy Veteran, receiving numerous awards for his marksmanship and surface warfare commendations. He served our country for ten years and seven months as a Sea-Air-Rescue (SAR) swimmer. He was awarded eleven medals, badges, and ribbons for his valor; Navy Achievement Medal (2 awards), Navy “E” ribbon, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Navy Good Conduct Medal (2 awards), National Defense Service medal (2 awards), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment ribbon.

Serving the Manges Family as Pallbearers; Nicholas Manges, Jonathan Manges, Nathaniel Manges, Patrick Garcia, Fred Trujillo and Miguel Garcia.

Serving the Manges Family as Honorary Pallbearers to carry him in spirit; Meekha, Jurhmane, Cruzito, Sebastian, Alicia, Amiyah, Aron, and Aubree.

A rosary will be recited for Ricky Thursday, August 27th, 2020 at Rivera Family Funeral Home in Espanola at 6 p.m.

Rite of Christian burial will be held on Friday, August 28th, 2020 at Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Canada (Holy Cross Catholic Church) at 10 a.m.
