Rita Ann Briceno

Rita Ann Briceño, a resident of Santa Fe, NM since 1974, passed away on May 11 2017. She was born in Ontario, CA to the late Procopio & Mary Ann Lopez on August 16, 1943. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, the late Eugene W. Briceño on October 31, 1970 in Albuquerque, they were married for 261/2 years. Her family always came first, she was so proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, friend and God mother. She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene W. Briceño, daughter Naomi (Jita), father and mother Procopio and Mary Ann Lopez, Brother Joseph J. Lopez, her in laws Antonio and Gertrude Briceño, and brother in laws Nick Briceño and Richard Perkins. She is survived by daughter DeeAnn Briceño (Melvin), grandson & Godson Michael Eugene (Miquella) and her 3 granddaughters Kristine (Phillip) Stefnee & Leslee, greatgrandchildren Khaliah and Eliseo, a brother in law Charles (Carlos) Briceño, who is more like a son, and his children and grandchildren all from Jacksonville, Florida. Antonio Briceño (Nadine), Ruth Perkins from Alaska and many more nieces, nephews and God children. Special friends Tony Martinez, David and Marylee Ortiz and their children Ama and Seo (Linda), Amie Martinez, Tania Tapia, Kenny Smith, and extended family and many very special children she took care of over 38 years. She enjoyed crafts, baking and cooking. She did volunteer work at Rancho de Las Golondrinas and was always involved with Baile Espanol de Santa Fe with her granddaughters and always involved and supporting her grandchildrens activities. A rosary will be recited on Tuesday, May 16 2017 at 7:00pm at St. Anne’s Parish. The mass will be at 10:00am at St. Anne’s Parish the following day, Wednesday, May 17 2017. The burial will follow at Rosario Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cancer Society, American Diabetes Associates, Kidney and Heart Associations. Heartfelt thanks to all her doctors and the staff of the Santa Fe Dialysis Center where Rita always received exceptional care and compassion.
