Rita Baca

Rita M. (Princess) Baca, 75, of Santa Fe, passed away suddenly Saturday, May 10, 2008 at her Santa Fe Home. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 56 years, Alfred C. Baca Jr., and sisters; Tina Romero and Della Gonzales. She was born, raised, and schooled in Santa Fe. She served on the cheerleading squad while she attended Santa Fe High. Rita drove school bus and cooked in the cafeteria for the Santa Fe Public Schools. She had a heart of gold and took care of many people. She was a devout catholic and had a great devotion to the rosary and to Our Lady. She is survived by her five children ; Rebecca B. Jaramillo and husband Julian of Albuquerque, Roberta Baca of Santa Fe, Patty Mercer and husband Frank of Albuquerque, Greg A. Baca and wife Anita of Pecos, Mary Frances Baca of Albuquerque, brothers; Billy Padilla and wife Dora of Albuquerque, and Tommy Padilla and wife Irene of Santa Fe, and sister; Katie Hanken and husband Landis of Phoenix, AZ. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. A Graveside service will be conducted Wednesday May 14, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
