Robert David Bowyer, age 82, passed away April 24th, 2014 in Española, NM. Robert lived in White Rock, NM with his wife, Twila. They were married June 22, 1952 in Salina, KS and were devoted to one another for 62 years. Robert graduated from Salina High School and completed his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering at Kansas State University after serving in the US Navy. Robert and Twila moved to Los Alamos, NM in 1965 and made New Mexico their home state. Robert was well respected with Los Alamos Laboratory for his vast knowledge of electrical engineering and for his 21 years of service.
Robert spent his days side-by-side with his loving wife as they camped, gardened, bowled, and watched the Rockies, Jeopardy, and Wheel of Fortune. Robert was a proud father to his four children: Clinton and wife, Donna; Clayton and wife, Kris; Carlton and wife, Janelle; and Constance and husband, Kenneth. Robert was an incredible grandfather to his nine grandchildren: Sean Bowyer and wife, Noelle; Kendra Duggar and husband, Jeromie; KJ Knapik; Justin Bowyer and wife, Lindsey; Wendy Perry and husband, John; Rebecca Bowyer and fiancé, Timothy; Mary Elizabeth Bowyer; and Alicia Bowyer, all of whom loved his warm spirit and full laugh. All of his six great-granddaughters brought him great joy: Calista Duggar, Kayden Bowyer, Carleigh Duggar, Audrina Duggar, Thalia Bowyer, and Brenna Perry.
Robert is also survived by his brother, Dean and wife, Barbara. Robert was preceded in death by his son, Clayton Bowyer; daughter-in-law, Kris Bowyer; his mother, Mildred; stepmother, Evelyn; stepsister, Ernestine; stepsister, Eunice; stepbrother, Donald; and his father, Robert.
A private family service will be held at the Methodist Church in White Rock. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Heart Association.
