Robert D. Moon

Robert Don Moon III was born on February 27,1961 at Charlotte, Michigan to parents Robert Don Moon, Jr, and Marie Louise Penner Moon. Bobby, their firstborn child, was joined by his younger sister Cami and baby brother Jim. He grew up in Berrien Springs Michigan attending Andrews Academy and later graduating from Andrews University completing a B.S. in Accounting where he met Annette Trubey. Annette wanted help in her accounting classes and asked who the smartest boy in the class was, and they said Bob Moon. The rest was history. They married on May 22, 1983. Seven years later they had Kara Dawn who was followed by Alison Renee and their baby Robert Don Moon IV. Bob completed his MBA from Webber University while working for Adventist Health Systems, where he started his career in the audit department and over the next 20 years worked his way up to Chief Financial Officer. From there he transitioned to Mercy Health Systems where he spent four years before moving on to Christus Healthcare Systems. It is here that he has been honored to spend the last four years of his career as Chief Financial Officer of Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical Center In Bob’s spare time he loved playing basketball, golf, hiking and skiing, and he enjoyed them most when it was with his family. You would rarely find him on vacation with fewer than five, as he so generously allowed his children to bring a friend. He found extra joy in dragging them on treacherous uphill bike rides and long hikes. Bob’s mother Louise said that one of the nicest tributes to Bob was made by his children, when they recounted to her recently that there were never any happier times in their lives then when they were all together as a family. Bob’s life on this earth closed in the wee hours of the morning February 3, 2017 to the shock of his family and friends. We are ever so grateful for the unforgettable memories and eagerly await the reunion with him at the resurrection.
