Robert Ernesto Olivas, 61 of Ranchitos died Saturday, March 27, after a brief illness. He was born to Ernesto and Opal Olivas, he grew up in Espanola, and was a longtime resident of Fort Worth, Texas, returing home in the spring of 2001. Robert was a patient, wise man with a kind heart. He was a jack of all trades, a collector, and enjoyed spending time at the casino. He was preceded in death by his father and mother Ernesto and Opal Olivas. Robert is survived by his companion, Jessie Lovato; her children, Paul Martinez and wife Jesusita, Yvonne Santos and husband Mike, EmilyAnn Lovato, grand children, Ernesto Martinez, Rico Rendon, Lucicana Jaramillo, Mia, Michael, and Max Santos, Annika Archuleta, children, Robert and Jamie Olivas, sister, Virginia Martinez and husband Samuel, brothers, Timothy Martinez, Archie Valdez and wife Annabelle, foster siblings, Julia Esquibel and Elosia Altano, uncle Phil Talachy, aunts Bernie Valdez, Pita Martinez, nephew, Adrian Martinez and wife Theresa and many other relatives and friends. Arrangements for cremation have been made-there will be no public viewing. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mr. Olivas will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at The Rivera Family Funeral Home in Espanola with Pastor Salomon Sanchez officiating. Private burial will take place at a later date.
