Robert Manuel Roybal (78) of Nambe NM went to his rest peacefully on December 9, 2021.
Robert was born on May 22, 1943, the second of nine children of Pablo and Ruby Roybal, and was raised on the Rancho Las Lagunas dairy farm in Nambe, NM. Robert and his siblings were an integral part of running the family farm which began in 1946. Robert was influential in helping raise his youngest siblings.
Robert graduated from Pojoaque High School in 1962, attended New Mexico State University in the early 1960s, and then served honorably in the US Army. He later pursued a long and distinguished career as an architect, and many fine homes in the Pojoaque Valley and Santa Fe area stand as a lasting testament of his skills and artistic gifts. Also a gifted painter, his paintings are beautifully displayed on the walls of family and friends. Robert often cooked gourmet dinners for the family on Sunday nights and was always involved in cooking holiday meals. He was a creative, interesting and colorful member of the family, not to be forgotten.
He is preceded in death by his Grandparents: Alberto & Bernardita Salazar and Procopio & Tonita Roybal; Parents, Pablo & Ruby Roybal; Siblings: Alberto, Donaldo, and Paula Sanchez. He is survived by his siblings Rick (Judy), Jim, Alfredo (Orlinda), Anna Price (Thom), and Paul (Mark Anstadt), brother-in-law Gary Sanchez and a large family of loving nephews and nieces, aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends.
A Rosary will be recited on Thursday May 12, 2022 at 9:30am at The Sacred Heart Church in Nambe, NM. Mass of Christian burial will follow at 10:00am. Burial will be at 12:45pm at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM.
