Robert Luis Sandoval was born on January 19, 1928 in Taos NM. He was preceded in death by Dominga Sandoval Trujillo, Elizardo Trujillo, Samuel Trujillo, Isabel Johnson, Margarito Trujillo and Robert Leroy Sandoval, his son. He served in the United States Air Force and the New Mexico National Guard. He Graduated from Highlands University with a Bachelors in Business Administration. He worked for the New Mexico State School Tax Division. Then worked for Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory and retired from the University of California. Robert was a devout Roman Catholic throughout his life and volunteered at the various churches he attended in Santa Fe, Los Alamos and Taos. Robert had a love of music and would play the guitar with his brother Margarito on the Taos plaza for fiestas and inthe church with his sister and brother. He would advise young people to study computers and to get educated. He was a proponent of natural “Remedios”, he would say “eat broccoli it has four times more vitamin C than any other vegetable” or “make me some oregano tea” for a cold. He was a fan of mustard and tonic water with brown sugar to cure leg cramps. He loved candy and cokes, “Milky Ways” were his favorite. He was a stylish dresser, he had a canary yellow, a purple, and a white tuxedo for formal occasions. In the military he had khaki pants that were tailored and fit him to a “T”. He succumbed to Parkinson’s disease on June 2, 2019 at the Vista Hermosa Assisted Living Facility. Robert is survived by Phoebe Sandoval, son, John and Lille Sandoval, son, Timothy and Tina Sandoval, daughter, Deborah and Scott Petty, son, Jake Sandoval, grandchildren, Carlos, Jessica, Vanessa, Andrew, William, Elizabeth, Kathryn, Alex, Myles, and great grandchildren, Jordan, Ethan, Mattingly, and Elise, nieces, Lena, Marie, Teresa, and goddaughter Annette. Rosary will be recited on Friday, June 7, 2019 at 9 AM with funeral mass following at 10 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with interment to be held at the Las Cruces Cemetery.
