Robin Barteletti

January 6, 1949 — September 17, 2022

Robin (Rob) Barteletti died, unexpectedly and suddenly, on Saturday, September 17, 2022 after a wonderful dinner with friends and his loving wife, Karen at Los Poblanos in Albuquerque, NM. Rob lived a full and beautiful life, leaving behind a legacy of philosophical and spiritual wisdom, art, music, community and above all, unconditional love.

Rob had a 31 year career as a high school English and Theology teacher. However, he wasn't just a teacher, he was a mentor to so many students and young people. Rob's love of the written word went far beyond the pages of school texts. He was an essayist and budding novelist, yet, Rob expressed his most prolific ideas through music. As a gifted songwriter and musician he produced eight albums including: Old Sombrero, Shaker's Sessions, Smoke & Mirrors, and Winter Songs, with another album to be released posthumously in Spring, 2023.

Community was central to Rob's life and he built countless deep friendships. Many of those relationships grew out of the shared experience of living with Parkinson's Disorder. Rob lived with Parkinson's for 20+ years and was a strong advocate and fundraiser for that community. He and his wife, Karen, led support groups for the past eight years in Santa Fe, NM where they retired. They also raised funds for the Parkinson's Foundation through their annual Santa Fe Moving Day Community Walk.

Additionally, Rob was an instrumental advocate with the New Mexico State Legislature for a movement disorder center on the University of New Mexico's Health Science Campus. He was so pleased to know that, as a result of his advocacy, the Jamie and Nene Koch Comprehensive Movement Disorders Center is slated to open in 2023.

Rob is survived by his wife, Karen St. Clair, his daughter, Gina Barteletti, her husband, Daniel Tatum and their son, Luca Barteletti. He also is survived by his son, David Sepkoski and his son's Jack Sepkoski and Siddhartha Chettiar-Sepkoski. Additionally, Rob is survived by his sister, Nancy Dufrense, nephew Jeffrey Dufrense and cousin Aldo Banfi. Finally, Rob is survived by his former spouses Beth Barteletti and Marcia Bianchi and several other cousins.

The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff at Los Poblanos in Albuquerque, NM and the Bernalillo County Fire and Rescue whose action and compassion will forever be appreciated.

A celebration of life will take place at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at the Rivera Family Funeral Home Kiva Chapel of Light in Santa Fe, NM. Masks required for attendance.

Remember, every moment is precious.
