Rogelio (Roger) Martinez, a resident of Arroyo de Agua, NM passed away on August 4, 2014 after a short illness. He was born in Mesa de Poleo to Emilia and Amarente Martinez. He is preceded in death by his parents, Emilia and Amarente Martinez, his brothers Nestor and Samuel Martinez, sister, Bohemia Velasquez, brothers in law, Juan Manuel Velasquez and Hermeno Chavez, nephews Clyde and Derek Lujan, Carlos Chavez and Richard Velasquez, nieces, Sara Salazar, Alice Chavez. Brother in law, Daniel Lujan. He is survived by his sisters Isabel Chavez (Filimon Lovato), of Hernandez, Francis Lujan from Mesa de Poleo, Lucy Martinez (Eddy) of Albuquerque. Nieces Edith Martinez (Phil) of Mesa de Poleo, Rosie Martinez (Eddie) of Chimayo, May Trujillo (Alfred) of Canjilon, Suzie Montoya (Florencio) from Arroyo de Agua, Merlinda Salazar (Alfredo) of Mesa de Poleo, Yvette Martinez (Jesse) of Chimayo, Jada Sanchez (Orlando) of Mesa de Peleo, Nellie Rodarte (Lalo) of Albuquerque, Robin Chavez (Melvin) of Cheyenne Wyoming. Roger enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. He also enjoyed spending time with his sister and brother in law in Hernandez. He loved helping his sister Francis with the chickens in Mesa de Poleo. He will be dearly missed! Pallbearers were Severo Ortega, Florencio Montoya, Danny Martinez and Joseph Salazar. Honorary Pallbearers are Suzie & Florencio Montoya and Angela Trujillo Mass of Christian Burial took place on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Santa Teresa Catholic Church in Mesa de Poleo. Burial took place following mass at the Coyote Cemetery. The family wishes to acknowledge with heartfelt appreciation your kind expression of sympathy during this difficult time.
