Rollin Lee Toohey, 70, of Alcalde, passed away with his loving wife by his side on Sunday, February 24, 2013 following a lengthy illness. Rol was born on June 12, 1942 in Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his parents Rollin Leo Toohey and June Emerson Lloyd.
Rol is survived by his wife Ermeny, children Steve and Kelly Toohey and dear friend whom he helped raise as a son, Jimmy Baumgardner, siblings, Barbara Toohey and Jim Lloyd and wife Gail, special nephew, Jason Toohey and wife Melissa, and several more nephews and nieces.
Rol is also survived by the family he inherited through marriage and who loved him very much; step-daughters June Madrid and husband Isauro, Nancy Martinez and husband Lenny, step-sons, Herman Garcia Sr. and wife Anna, Manuel Garcia Sr. and Carmen, 9 grandchildren, one of whom he helped raise since infancy, Manuel Garcia Jr.
A funeral mass was held on February 27, 2013 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh (San Juan Pueblo).
Honorary Pallbears will be the great-grandchildren who were the joy of Rols life and whom he doted on: Jade and Isaac Madrid, Abigail Martinez, Carlos and Alicia Garcia, Krystina, Destinee and Noah Vega, Alberto Figueroa, Jose and Joni Maestas, and Arianna LaBadie.
